NDB Bank is looking for a dedicated Deputy Manager – Legal to assist in guiding and advising lawyers, manage legal documentation related to SME and Business Banking, and ensure compliance with all applicable legal policies and regulations. This position involves overseeing mortgage bonds, title reports, legal audits, and providing legal opinions within the bank’s operational scope.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare title reports, draft and execute mortgage bonds for high-value loans within set timeframes.
- Draft rescheduling offer letters and attend to post-execution processes including security registration.
- Lodge title documents with safe custody and manage security releases including deeds of release.
- Guide Regional Lawyers and panel lawyers in reviewing mortgage bonds and security documents.
- Assist in sourcing and recruiting retained/panel lawyers for branches.
- Provide legal opinions based on bank policies and relevant laws.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external regulations related to branch legal work.
- Conduct periodic legal audits by visiting branches island-wide.
- Stay updated on new laws affecting the bank and SME branch network industries.
- Ensure adherence to non-negotiable legal document clauses as per bank policy.
- Attend legal negotiations and support litigation management as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Law or Attorney at Law/Notary Public qualification.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in conveyancing, company law, and banking law.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Good planning and organizing abilities with close attention to detail.
- Position level: Deputy Manager.
