SLINTEC, the Sri Lanka Institute of Nanotechnology, invites qualified Mechanical Engineers to join their team. This role involves supporting cutting-edge research by maintaining high-end laboratory instruments and contributing to the design and development of research prototypes.

Qualifications

  • B.Sc. (Hons) Degree in Mechanical, Electrical and Electronic, or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • 2-4 years of industrial experience with research lab instruments is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD design software.
  • Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and operate advanced laboratory equipment such as FTIR, NMR, SEM, and TEM.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance in coordination with scientific teams and overseas OEMs.
  • Document detailed maintenance and service records.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment breakdowns promptly.
  • Ensure continuous reliability and proper functioning of laboratory instruments.
  • Provide engineering support for ongoing research projects.
  • Design and develop 3D models and engineering drawings for innovative research prototypes.
  • Prepare cost estimations and material analysis based on designs.
