Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) of Sri Lanka is seeking a qualified Systems Engineer for a contract-based role to manage and monitor the Lanka Government Cloud (LGC) systems and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure on the Lanka Government Cloud (LGC).
- Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
- Ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability proactively.
- Monitor and test systems performance for potential bottlenecks; identify and implement solutions in collaboration with developers.
- Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
- Write and maintain custom scripts to improve system efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Participate in the design of information and operational support systems.
- Provide 2nd and 3rd level technical support.
- Liaise with vendors and IT personnel for effective problem resolution.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Network Engineering, or an equivalent field from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience.
- Intermediate Linux systems administration skills.
- Understanding of server hardware and network devices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot under pressure.
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMWare and KVM.
- Experience with RedHat OpenStack technologies is an advantage.
- Familiarity with configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
- Demonstrated experience in scripting and automation using technologies such as Perl.
