Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) of Sri Lanka is seeking a qualified Systems Engineer for a contract-based role to manage and monitor the Lanka Government Cloud (LGC) systems and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure on the Lanka Government Cloud (LGC).
• Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
• Ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability proactively.
• Monitor and test systems performance for potential bottlenecks; identify and implement solutions in collaboration with developers.
• Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
• Write and maintain custom scripts to improve system efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
• Participate in the design of information and operational support systems.
• Provide 2nd and 3rd level technical support.
• Liaise with vendors and IT personnel for effective problem resolution.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Network Engineering, or an equivalent field from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience.
• Intermediate Linux systems administration skills.
• Understanding of server hardware and network devices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot under pressure.
• Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMWare and KVM.
• Experience with RedHat OpenStack technologies is an advantage.
• Familiarity with configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
• Demonstrated experience in scripting and automation using technologies such as Perl.
