People’s Bank, a leading bank in Sri Lanka with over six decades of excellence, is seeking talented professionals for the Information Security Engineer position specializing in Data Classification and Leakage Prevention. This role plays a crucial part in designing and maintaining strategies to safeguard sensitive data and ensure regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and update data classification policies and frameworks to categorize data by sensitivity and criticality.
• Manage automated data classification and tagging tools and processes.
• Configure Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies, rules, and exceptions to secure data in motion, use, and at rest.
• Maintain DLP infrastructure and software to ensure optimal performance.
• Monitor DLP dashboards and alerts to detect potential data leakage and policy violations.
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments of data protection controls.
• Educate employees through training and awareness campaigns on Data Classification and DLP policies.
• Collaborate with IT, legal, and compliance teams to integrate DLP with existing systems.
• Research emerging security threats and recommend suitable controls.
• Experience with PAM solutions is an advantage.

Eligibility Criteria

• Sri Lankan citizenship is required.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Security or Information Technology from a UGC-recognized institution.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in information security focusing on data classification, DLP, or related fields.
• Hands-on experience with DLP tools like Symantec, CTB, Forcepoint, or Microsoft Purview.
• Strong understanding of data protection regulations and frameworks such as PDPA and ISO 27001.
• Knowledge of industry trends and threats targeting financial institutions.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Preferably below 45 years of age at the application closing date.

Selection and Remuneration

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview. The appointment will be on a contract basis with annual performance evaluations. A competitive and negotiable remuneration package will be offered based on qualifications and experience.
