Port City Colombo Hiring Executive – Finance – Apply Now

Port City Colombo (Private) Ltd. is seeking a qualified Executive in Finance to manage accurate accounting, tax submissions, and liaise with relevant authorities for its operations and subsidiaries.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure accuracy of accounts payable and receivable for the company and subsidiaries, posting to the accounting system.
• File tax returns (VAT, SSCL, WHT, etc.) timely and arrange tax payments before deadlines.
• Liaise with the Inland Revenue Department for tax-related matters.
• Verify the accuracy of payment vouchers for the company and subsidiaries.
• Prepare correspondence related to IRD and banking as required.
• Identify fixed assets as per accounting standards and maintain the fixed asset register.
• Prepare and issue invoices accurately and timely to customers.
• Maintain invoice summaries and debtor summaries and submit to management when requested.
• Follow up with customers on due payments.
• Assist in annual internal and external audits.
• Coordinate with internal departments and subsidiaries to facilitate financial requirements.

Key Requirements

• At least 3-4 years of experience in a similar role with a degree in Accounting or Finance. Partial qualifications in CMA, ACCA, CIMA, or CA are preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Accounting Standards.
• Hands-on experience with tax-related matters.
• Fluency in accounting systems and MS Office package.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to work under pressure with a positive and smart work attitude.
