Port City Colombo (Private) Ltd. invites qualified and experienced professionals to apply for the position of Planning Engineer. This role is critical in monitoring and managing construction activities for large-scale infrastructure and real estate projects, ensuring all phases are conducted on time and within the required standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Monitor and track all construction activities, ensuring alignment with the project work plan and timeline.
• Coordinate with the Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) department to review and approve completed works according to standards.
• Manage all engineering documents including project plans, reports, and change orders efficiently.
• Prepare and deliver progress updates and status reports to the General Manager regularly.
• Liaise with the HSE Engineer, QA/QC Engineer, and EQR Inspectors to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards on site.
• Identify possible delays and provide solutions to maintain project timeline.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years experience as a Planning Engineer in large-scale infrastructure or real estate development.
• Proficient in project planning and scheduling software.
• Thorough understanding of construction methodologies and project management principles.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and coordination skills.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications for various building types including high-rise residential and commercial buildings.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities to anticipate and resolve project challenges.
