This full-time Research Assistant position at the University of Moratuwa offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge Large Language Model (LLM) research within the Department of Computer Science & Engineering under the supervision of Prof. Uthayasanker Thayasivam.

Scope of Research Work

• Develop and optimize Large Language Models (LLMs) for advanced AI applications.
• Work on training, fine-tuning, and evaluation of transformer-based models.
• Conduct experiments using large-scale datasets and GPU computing resources.
• Implement efficient model training pipelines and inference systems.
• Contribute to research publications in high-impact conferences and journals.

Qualifications Required

• Undergraduate degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields from a UGC recognized university.
• Second Class Upper Division or above.
• Good understanding of Deep Learning and LLM fundamentals.
• Strong programming skills and prior experience with Deep Learning Frameworks.
• Good technical writing and English communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior publication experience.
• Familiarity with LLMs, Transformers, NLP, or Generative AI.
