NDB Bank Hiring Senior Deputy Manager Financial Crime Compliance – Apply Now
NDB Bank is seeking a qualified Senior Deputy Manager to join the Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) team within the Compliance Department. This role focuses on managing financial crime risks, developing policies, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations issued by the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU).
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of the bank’s financial crime policies and framework related to customer onboarding, due diligence, and ongoing monitoring.
- Stay updated on evolving financial regulations and implement new compliance operations accordingly.
- Provide periodic compliance status updates to the Compliance Officer and Financial Crime Head based on business advisory outcomes.
- Advise business lines on Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter Financing of Terrorism (CFT) policies based on customer activity or profiles.
- Support business lines in implementing processes that comply with applicable financial crime laws.
- Drive risk-based approaches aligned with regulatory expectations for Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs), NGOs, charities, and trusts.
- Assist in identifying risk areas and recommend enhancements to ensure compliance.
- Implement PEP approval processes and manage the PEP policy framework.
- Conduct training on AML/CFT and regulatory matters to both new and existing staff to foster a strong compliance culture.
- Lead governance frameworks for FCC policies including workflows, approval processes, and version control.
- Ensure timely review of AML Policy and Procedures manuals and compliance-related questionnaires.
- Support supervision processes and follow up on regulatory concerns and recommendations.
- Manage responses to Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) inquiries related to outward and inward remittances.
Candidate Requirements
- Professional qualification in Banking (e.g. Diploma from IBSL), Law, Business, Finance, or related fields.
- Professional certifications such as CACS, ICA or equivalent are preferred.
- Minimum 12 years of experience in banking covering Audit, Compliance, Legal, or Branch Operations.
- Strong understanding of risk principles, internal controls, and financial systems.
- In-depth knowledge of banking regulations with a focus on AML, CFT, and KYC.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to interpret complex regulations.
- Proven ability to lead training initiatives and influence compliance best practices.
- Position is at Senior Deputy Manager level.
