People’s Bank, a leading bank in Sri Lanka with over six decades of delivering innovative financial solutions, is inviting applications for the position of Electrical Engineer in the Banking Support Services Department. This role focuses on maintenance, servicing, energy management, and supervision of MEP systems across the bank’s head office and branch network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and service of MEP-related works including HVAC, Generator, CCTV, Solar PV electrical equipment, and other related systems.
  • Coordinate and inspect major renovations and refurbishments on MEP and related systems at the head office and branch network.
  • Manage third-party contractors for outsourced MEP equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • Ensure timely, safe, and responsible completion of maintenance jobs, including preparation of work schedules and reports.
  • Authorize payments related to MEP repairs and maintenance work at People’s Bank premises.
  • Implement and manage energy management systems, optimize energy usage, and support sustainability practices.
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and maintain facilities in a good and safe condition at all times.
  • Carry out any other duties as assigned within the employee’s capability and in line with bank policies.
  • Comply with bank rules and regulations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Citizen of Sri Lanka.
  • BSc Degree in Electrical Engineering from a UGC recognized university or degree awarding institute.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in MEP service and maintenance.

Required Skills

  • Ability to perform minor repairs of building and MEP equipment.
  • Competence in maintaining routine records, preparing reports, and delivering presentations.
  • Proficiency with electrical design and project management software.
  • Sound knowledge of bank rules and regulations.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Additional Information

  • Age preferably below 45 years as at the closing date of applications.
  • Appointment will be on a contract basis with annual performance evaluations.
  • Remuneration package is attractive and negotiable, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
